Yokohama was key to Pablo Sanchez Lopez's stunning win today in International Formula Master's (IFM) fourth round with the Series' youngest ever winner able to push all the way to the chequered flag knowing his ADVAN's would deliver.
The 17-year-old acknowledged the Series' official tyre supplier as a contributor to his win by saying: "The car was fast and I knew that driving hard on this circuit would ask a lot of the tyres but the Yokohama's were constant all the time so I was able to push.
I got a really good start both times, in the beginning of the race and when the race was re-started so the tyres were perfect for me."
With weather conditions varying throughout the weekend, drivers relied particularly on their tyres to ensure consistency and with lap times matching each other both in Saturday and Sunday's races, the ADVANs have once again proved their worth.
Yokohama Europe Marketing Manager Kazuyoshi Sekiguchi was on hand throughout the weekend to oversee the tyre manufacturer's IFM project.
"This was IFM's first races at a street circuit," said Sekiguchi.
"But Yokohama has many years experience with this kind of track and I am happy to report that our product performed as well as on any other circuit."
