FIA WTCC FOR CHARITY IN 24 TONS OF FOOD COLLECTED
120,000 / 150,000 meals to be distributed to people in need

The WTCC Race of Brazil, opening round of the 2007 FIA World Touring Car Championship, that took place last Sunday in Curitiba, gave its contribution to help Brazilian people who are starving.
24 tons of foods were collected through the ticket pre-sale campaign and donated to the charity society Instituto Pro-Cidadania de Curitiba who will distribute them to those in need.
Together the City Hall of Curitiba, KSO, the championship promoter, and HSBC, partner of the event, offered free tickets to the public in exchange for one kilogram of food.
Thousands od fans who wished to attend the races collected the tickets bringing foods to nine different City Hall's offices or three different HSBC points.
On Sunday morning, on the grid for the first race and in front of absolutely
packed grandstands, the Mayor of Curitiba Mr Beto Richa, the Chairman of
KSO Mr Jacques Behar and the Markerting Director of HSBC Mr Glenn Valente,
presented to Mrs Fernanda Richa, president of the charity institute, a
board that symbolized the success of this humanitarian initiative that
will result in the distribution of about 120,000 / 150,000 meals.
