Since the opening round in July, the 2007 China Circuit Championship ran through its six round schedule in only three months and then the final round came. The team championship was already secured by Shanghai Volkswagen 333 Racing in round five, but the Dongfeng Nissan Ghiasports Team was also eager to add one more win to its tally and headed for this final round sparing no effort.

In the qualifying session on Saturday, the top slots were filled by cars from these two teams as usual. After Wang Rui, in a VW POLO, made a quick time early in the session, Guo Haisheng and Lin Lifeng on Nissan TIIDAs and Han Han on another POLO answered to it. In the closing minutes of the session, the winner of the previous race, Han Han, outstripped Wan Rui's fastest time and took the back-to-back pole position.

Just after the start of the race on Sunday afternoon, there was an incident. The pole sitter, Han Han, was rear-ended by his teammate Wang Rui, starting from the second grid, at the first corner. The damage on the front end of Wang Rui's POLO was clearly visible. Meanwhile, Lin Lifeng, who was the third quickest in the qualifying session, made a bad start and dropped down in the field.

At the end of Lap 1, the lead position was taken by one of their rivals. But Guo Haisheng followed him by a neck and took over the position on Lap 2. Behind the leaders, three cars went into Turn 1 side-by-side with Lin Lifeng's TIIDA sandwiched between two POLOs. As a result of this fierce battle, Lin Lifeng moved up to third but he was passed by the POLOs two laps later.

After that, they steadily pursued the second-placed rival and on Lap 6 Wang Rui and Han Han overtook him followed by Lin Lifeng on the next lap. These moves restored a 1-2-3-4 formation by YOKOHAMA equipped cars again. While Guo Haisheng was running in the lead position without difficulty, the second-place POLO of Wang Rui was on a slightly quicker pace and a 3.6 second gap between them in the early stage was gradually reduced. When there were two laps to go, Wang Rui caught Guo Haisheng's tail and tried to pass him at Turn 1 on the final lap. Despite a hard attack that caused a cloud of smoke from his rear tires, his first attempt failed. But Wang Rui finally managed to pass the hard pushing race leader on the back stretch of the same lap and took the checkered flag. The battle represented the whole series of this year with POLO versus TIIDA until the very last moment. Han Han and Lin Lifeng finished in third and fourth respectively and as usual, the podium of the final round was monopolized by YOKOHAMA users.

After the final race of the season, the upper ranks of the point standings were totally dominated by YOKOHAMA users. The popular author and driver, Han Han, won the championship by finishing the race in third and the teammate Wang Rui followed. The pair of Dongfeng Nissan Ghiasports Team, Lin Lifeng and Guo Haisheng, were ranked third and fourth respectively.

YOKOHAMA Tire achieved a brilliant feat by maintaining the podium monopolies in all six races of the 2007 CCC. Starting from the final race of the 2006 season, the monopoly has continued for seven races running. This certainly proves the strong reliability and performance of YOKOHAMA tires in the Chinese motor sport field.
